Report: NBPA wants Derek Fisher to resign

  • Andy Flint

Reports have surfaced from both Yahoo! Sports and SI that there has been a serious push within the NBPA for Derek Fisher to step down from his post.

Fisher remains adamant to keep his post despite votes from the NBPA’s executive committee asking the 5-time NBA champion to resign from his position.

Fisher and Billy Hunter have been battling for months and this nasty business has finally come to the surface after Fisher reportedly convinced the executive committee to vote for an independent auditor to look into Hunter’s regime.

As if the battle over the NBA lock-out this past summer wasn’t ugly enough. Now the NBPA must weather the storm between Fisher and Hunter publicly.
