Roy Hibbert thanks the Heat on Twitter

  • PTP Staff

Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert made the world take notice when his squad pushed the favored Miami Heat to seven games in the NBA’s Eastern Conference Finals. Hibbert’s character also shone through on several occasions. It’s easy to see he’s a humble, intelligent guy who’s worked himself to the bone to get to where he is. While Roy Hibbert can only improve as the Pacers forge ahead, he took time out to personally thank LeBron James, Chris Bosh, and Dwyane Wade on Twitter for making him a better player:

One Response to Roy Hibbert thanks the Heat on Twitter

  • Give us a break; disingenuous and too little too late! Considering that I have watched this young man since his early days at Georgetown. While he is beginning to realize his vast potential, Roy Hibbert is blowing an excellent opportunity. He recently complained about not getting the recognition he deserved for DPOY, but when he was on the national stage he clowned himself by cursing and uttering a homophobic slur. What does one have to do with the other? Well, if you need the media to lift your profile; you probably should not be calling sportswriters moth&%#@+s! Also, as prominent as the whole gay rights issue is right now, and with the outcry for inclusion, it is probably not a good idea to take a “no homo” stance. I sincerely hope that John Thompson, Alonzo, Patrick, or influential others in Roy’s inner circle will counsel the young man to stop all the clowning (sticking his tongue out etc.), poor sportsmanship and acting like David West. Please remain humble and continue to work hard Roy; your rewards will come.
