Stephen Curry joins Under Armour brand
Golden State Warriors point guard, and former Nike endorser, has changed brands as the 25-year old has reportedly joined forces with Under Armour.
Curry has reportedly walked away from Nike to join Under Armour. A brand that is seemingly taking over on day at a time. I’m sure sure designers at Nike will have a field day with Steph the first time he twists an ankle in UA shoes. Remember the Derrick Rose saga?
Curry is coming off of a break-out season and his stock is currently as high as it might ever get. The young-gun will join fellow NBAers, Brandon Jennings or the Detroit Pistons, and DeAndre Jordan of the Los Angeles Clippers.
Under Armour has really elevated their brand with this move, as Curry is their biggest NBA star to date. This new partnership is expected to be announced next week sometime per Yahoo! Sports.
Curry averaged 22.9 points, 6.9 assists and 4 rebounds per game last season, as he led the underdog Warriors to the playoffs where they were eventually chopped by the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs went on to lose to the Miami Heat in 7 games of the NBA Finals.
As if Under Armour gear wasn’t already expensive enough. Imagine when they toss Curry’s face on a shirt with their logo, or debut his new kicks.
