Thomas Robinson traded to the Rockets
Matt Moore of CBS Sports is reporting that the Houston Rockets have acquired the 2012 NBA Draft’s fifth overall pick, Thomas Robinson, in a six-player trade. The entire trade was Robinson, Francisco Garcia and Tyler Honeycutt and a second-round pick for forward Patrick Patterson, center Cole Aldrich, Toney Douglas, and cash. This is the first big move as we approach the deadline. It is also being reported by Yahoo! Sports Adrian Wojnarowski that Houston will send backup power forward Marcus Morris to Phoenix for a second round pick:
The Houston Rockets have traded Marcus Morris to the Phoenix Suns for a future second-round draft pick, league sources tell Y! Sports.

Houston appears to be going all in on Thomas Robinson’s ceiling. He has been a disappointment thus far and could use the change of scenery. He goes from a struggling team at the bottom of their division to a surging, up-tempo team that plays a style that should be friendly to the athletic big man. Houston’s post-trade projected starting lineup:
PG: Jeremy Lin
SG: James Harden
SF: Chandler Parsons
PF: Thomas Robinson
C: Omer Asik
Although he isn’t the most notable, the best player in the trade is Patrick Patterson. He will join fellow Kentucky product DeMarcus Cousins in the Sacramento Kings’ frontcourt, but not necessarily in the starting lineup considering Jason Thompson is still on the team.
