Top 10 Underpaid Players Currently In The NBA

Chandler Parsons will eventually have a nice payday

Some players in the NBA earn much less than what they are actually worth. They produce much more than they were initially expected and that’s why they are considered as underpaid. Let’s break down the list of the top 10 players in this category.

No.1: Chandler Parsons

For many people around the league, Chandler Parsons is an All-Star caliber player. The truth is that he is performing like an All-Star and he is gradually emerging as the major third wheel of the Houston Rockets, alongside Dwight Howard and James Harden. He is averaging 17.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 51.9 shooting from the field this season while he has a ridiculously low salary, just $926,500.

No.2: Lance Stephenson

Stephenson is another young and emerging player who is currently underpaid. His $981,349 earnings for this season is just too low for what he is providing to the team. He is putting up 13.5 points, 5.3 assists and 6.7 rebounds up to now and he has also earned his spot and his minutes in the Indiana Pacers’ rotation.

No.3: Isaiah Thomas

Thomas just saw his role and his minutes with the Sacramento Kings being upgraded. After the Kings acquired Rudy Gay, he is now assigned with the starting point guard role and he responded with the best way possible. He is averaging 19.2 points and 6.1 assists while he will earn just $884,293 this season.

No.4: Stephen Curry

Curry is a superstar. Those who don’t recognize this are just not seeing the reality as it is. And despite his dominant performances and the fact that he is one of the best shooters currently active in the league, his earnings are not equivalent. He is in the books for $9.9 million.

No.5: Andray Blatche

For a big man who is averaging 11.6 points, 5.9 rebounds and 45.8 shooting from the floor in just 23 minutes, $1.4 million is just not enough. Blatche is clearly underpaid.

No.6: Ray Allen

Ray Allen is aging. However, he still is a lethal shooter, arguably the most specialized, and the best sharpshooter from long distance in the NBA. Plus, he saved the season for the Miami Heat in 2013. He earns $3.2 million per season, which is certainly lower than his actual value.

No.7: Kevin Martin

Martin was expected to be very productive this season with the Minnesota Timberwolves and he is playing even better than initially expected. He is putting up 19.9 points and 3.4 boards per game while shooting 40 percent from downtown. His salary is $6.5 million.

No.8: Jamal Crawford

The former Sixth Man of the Year will earn $5.3 million this season which is much lower than his actual value. Crawford is the third best player of the Los Angeles Clippers and could easily earn twice the money he currently earns with another team.

No.9: Darren Collison

Collison is in the books for $1.9 million this season but he is clearly a player who could earn multiple times what he currently does. He could also be a starter for about half of the teams around the league.

No.10: DeJuan Blair

Blair has a tiny contract worth $884,293 with the Dallas Mavericks but he has actually found success up to now with his new team. 8.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 55.3 percent from the floor in 20.4 minutes per game is his output, which can be considered as more than enough for his salary.

  • untill due time bro untill due time

  • OHNO!!! not a million dollars a year to eat sleep and play basketball…..

  • I work my ass off. My store, part of a big department store chain that begins with the letter M, gets raves from the district because of my work. You know what I get? Sweet nothings written on 3 x 6 inch pieces of company stock called magic cards, that are read at the morning store rally. Basically, the equivalent of human dog biscuits. Only you can’t eat them. Guys are getting a million bucks to play NBA, which is just hyper-playground ball anymore. I lap up company mental dog biscuits. Oh, boohoo. Poor NBA player.

    • Should have practiced you jumpshot, you whining bitch.

    • @Injun,

The sand in your vagina must be really bothersome.

You work freakin’ retail and you’re complaining about how little you make? Really? You basically have the cushiest job on the planet that requires no education, no skills, and no real talent. If you were to quit tomorrow, “M” could replace you overnight with someone who will also get “raves from the district.”

The quicker you learn that you’re not entitled and that you’re easily replaced, the quicker you’ll learn to develop some sort of real skills that make you worthy of anything beyond “magic cards.”

  • How stupid do you have to still be to whine that a guy makes 1 million dollars to play basketball? Whats more, how simple, as in short bus simple do you honestly have to be in order to NOT understand that these figures are relative to the salaries in the NBA. Sorry you make 50k or whatever a year and don’t like that BB players make millions. But they’re the best in the WORLD at what they do and people pay to watch them. It’s the free market. Whats more, would it be better if the billionaires who own the team made more money? It’s called the FREE MARKET, and everyone of these players is under paid relative to their ability and their profession.

  • These guys have the right to make as much money as the Billionaire owners will pay them.
Once the contract is signed, no complaining from either side.

    S. Curry from Golden State is the best long distance shooter since Kobe in his prime, Bird, and R. Barry in the late 1960’s to mid 1970’s. He will get his MAX Contract soon. Maybe the 3rd. best player in the league behind LeBron & Durant, clearly 1 & 2.

  • Underpaid I work in a dirty ass foundry I would love to PLAYBALL and get paid to PLAY sure you have to work at it but its a GAME! ITS A GAME! ITS A GAME! I could very well on their salary !!
