WATCH: Jazz Man Jeremy Evans Hammers Alley Oop Home
The Utah Jazz don’t have a whole lot to be happy about as of late. They’ve only managed one win all season thus far when they hosted the New Orleans Pelicans. There are glimpses of hope as the Jazz show signs of improvement, as well as injured players returning to true form. One of those players is Jeremy Evans, former Sprite Slam Dunk Contest champion. If you ask me, he should have had it for his second straight year. Regardless, he’s playing above the rim now that he’s seeing minutes coming off of an injury.
Recently signed D-League prospect Diante Garrett received an inbound pass Friday night in Dallas, yo-yo’d left, and found Evans attacking the rim through the paint. Garrett lobbed it up at what seemed to be an unreachable height, but Evans has hops folks. He fully extends and hammers it down for a ferocious two. Despite being down by nearly 30 at one point, the Jazz bench brought Utah within five, only to lose it in the fourth. At least Jazz fans can savor this spectacular jam while trying to not think about the win column this season.
