WATCH: LeBron James designs $51,500 limited edition watch
LeBron James was able to design a watch worth $51,500, to its exact specifications. James teamed up with Audemars Piguet from Switzerland, to create the watch. The name of the watch is Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph and only 600 of them were made. James said he took a liking to watches growing up and when the opportunity presented itself it was an easy yes for him.
LeBron James, the NBA two-time champion and four-time most valued player, teamed up with Swiss watchmaker Audemars Piguet to design a $51,500 limited edition watch.
The watch, called the Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph, comes with an 18-karat pink gold case, black ceramic and diamond set push pieces, and a hand-stitched gray crocodile strap. Six-hundred of these watches went on sale at the end of September.
LeBron went on to talk about how anytime he partners up with a company, he feels it’s important to put his stamp of approval on the product. CEO of Audemars Piguet, François-Henry Bennahmias, also enjoyed working with LeBron and feels James is a unique individual.
“He [LeBron] is truly a unique person,” said François-Henry Bennahmias, CEO of Audemars Piguet. “When we met for the first time there was a good connection and we knew that we would do something together.”
