WATCH: Tyreke Evans crossover, circus layup
When the New Orleans Pelicans (still feels wrong to say) met up with the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night, we witnessed two of the NBA’s youngest, and most intriguing teams square-off in the Big Easy.
New addition, Tyreke Evans, has struggled with his new role thus far this season, but appears to finally be putting it together, as he’s posted double-digit scoring performances in his last three outings, including Saturday night’s 135-98 win over the Sixers at home.
Tyreke notched 15 points, 3 assists and 2 steals on the night, and this play here was a great sign that Tyreke is starting to feel his new role with the Pelicans.
Tyreke crosses up rookie, Hollis Thompson, and finishes in traffic to sink the circus layup, and-one. Spencer Hawes got a piece of Evans on the play that pushed the Pelcians’ lead to 50-26 without about 6:30 to go in the first half.
The ol’ shake-n-bake from Tyreke had the fans up on their feet, and the Pelicans coasted to a big win on their home floor.
