Pau Gasol Would Like a Trade to the Chicago Bulls

  • Jason Whitney

Start up the Pau Gasol trade rumor engines yet again! This time you ask…the Chicago Bulls. To be honest, I don’t blame Gasol. Would you want to stick around being Kobe Bryant’s whipping  boy? Every time there is chaos in Laker land he’s the first one to be blamed.

The newest report according to Sam Smith of

“The interesting part, according to Lakers’ insiders, is Gasol would like to play for the Bulls.”

“And what you hardly need any sources for is to see how he and Bryant basically can’t stand one another. It was no secret around L.A. what all those post series comments were about. “We got to be committed to each other,” said Ron Artest. “This year we wasn’t as committed collectively, and that hurt us a lot.” Said Bynum: “We just weren’t doing it together.”

“That was because Bryant and Gasol were constantly at odds. And that came out several times in the playoffs with the two frequently arguing on the court and Bryant again questioning Gasol’s heart.”

Most insiders agree that Luol Deng would have to be included. Chicago already has a plethora of big men patrolling the block, so they would have to include one of them in a trade back to Los Angeles. Could they offer Noah or Gibson to go along with Deng and bring the talented Gasol to Chicago? Another thing Chicago could do is amnesty Carlos Boozer and create some potential cap room. Stay tuned…

  • He should have been in Chicago anyway. If the coach would have pulled the trigger and sent Gordon to Memphis this conversation would not be happening. And I am glad he stood up Kobe.

  • Pau is at least as good as Kobe and the sooner the Lacklusters realize Kobe can’t win by himself and will not tolerate anyone else getting any attention (or the ball) and get rid of him, the sooner they have a chance of building a championship-quality team. Let’s see…Shaq, Lamar, now Pau…maybe Kobe just has a height-jealosy thing going on….

  • Thanks PAU and cya. Time for Pau to go help someone else win.
Kobe is fine where he is…needs more help then what Pau has left..Bynum if he ever grows up and learns to play a bit smarter and tougher…He was manhandled by Perkins in the 4th quarters of most of the games..that cant happen..
Better defensive effort too..he was too slow on rotations and didnt rebound as he should. All the same with Pau…Pau looked lost in there too…Maybe he needs a different team…Just didnt look like he was comfortable as a Laker anymore..time to move on.
A better point guard will help too..Sessions just isnt it, maybe he will improve..but someone like Derron Williams will be a plus.
Need to rebuild the bench too..Lakers bench was a tad short and a lot slower then most…no real depth.
Rebuild around the Best Player in the NBA and the Lakers will be in the Finals next year..I’d bet the farm on it..incuding the outhouse..;-)
