Pete Carroll says Jim Harbaugh is a great coach and “we love beating him”
The intense rivalry between the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers just keeps getting better. While most rivalries don’t extend to the coaches, it seems like this one begins with them.
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll and 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh weren’t exactly buddies when Carroll was at USC and Harbaugh was at Stanford, and their apparent contempt for one other carried over into the NFL. Most coaches try to maintain a mutual respect for one another, but that’s not the case with these two.
Per Pro Football Talk:
Carroll, according to the Seattle Times, said at an event for Seahawks fans that Harbaugh is “a great coach and we love beating him.”
The Seahawks and 49ers don’t meet until Thanksgiving this season, and then they play each other again two weeks later. We’ll see if either team walks away from those meetings in one piece.
