Cardinals cut linebacker Ernie Sims
The Arizona Cardinals have announced that they have released veteran linebacker Ernie Sims, per the teams official Twitter account.
Sims was brought on board shortly after Daryl Washington was lost for the entire 2014 season after breaking the NFL’s substance abuse policy for the second straight year. He was widely considered to be a depth signing and wasn’t expected to be a starter.
Sims won’t be seen as a huge loss.
A journeyman, the 20-year old Sims has played for the Detroit Lions, Philadelphia Eagles, Indianapolis Colts and Dallas Cowboys since being drafted in the first round, ninth overall in the 2006 NFL Draft.
