The wait is over.

After a whole week has gone by since Antonio Cromartie made his initial visit to the Cardinals facility, he has finally signed with the team.  Cromatrie signed a one-year deal.

Cromartie will strengthen the Cardinals’ secondary which includes Patrick Peterson and Tyrann Mathieu.  The number two corner ack slot was filled by Jerraud Powers in 2013 who turned out to be a huge liability for the team.  Powers ranked 63rd out of 110 corner backs according to Pro Football Focus so the Cardinals see Cromartie as an upgrade.

Cromartie is an eight-year veteran of the NFL having been originally drafted by the San Diego Chargers in 2006.  After four years with the Chargers, Cromartie moved to the New York Jets where he formed a tandem with Darrelle Revis for two years before a season-ending ACL injury to Revis and his eventual trade made Cromartie the number one corner for the team.

Cromartie will join his good friend Patrick Peterson, who he had a Twitter conversation with earlier in the week.  The pair talked about ‘getting it done’.  It caused quite the sensation and fans assumed a deal was impenitent.  The deal did come but not for a few more days.
