Daryl Washington pleads guilty to lesser aggravated assault charge
Daryl Washington is undoubtedly one of the most important players on the Cardinals defense. The Cardinals understand that after recently paying him the $10 million bonus he was due, even after having been charged with aggravated assault last offseason after a domestic dispute.
Today, Washington plead guilty to a lesser aggravated assault charge, and is scheduled to be sentenced on April 23, according to Maricopa County Supreme Court.
While Washington may not be sentenced to any jail time, it’s very likely that he could receive a suspension from the NFL. Washington was suspended for the first four games of the 2013 season for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. Washington has kept out of trouble since these two incidents, and has insisted that all of his issues are behind him. The Cardinals are hoping that is the case.
