Diamondbacks Recall Campana, Place Inciarte on DL

The Arizona Diamondbacks placed another outfielder on the DL, announcing they place Ender Inciarte on the 7-day concussion disabled list. His concussion came in the third inning against the Houston Astros, following a knee to the head by shortstop Jonathan Villar.

The 23 year old from Venezuela, managed to stay for a few more innings, before ultimately being pulled as a precaution. Over 34 games this season, Inciarte has hit .205, four RBI, two doubles, and has stolen four bases.

Following Inciarte’s placement on the DL, the D-backs recalled outfield Tony Campana from the Triple-A affiliate, The Reno Aces.

Campana played in 23 games earlier this season for the Diamondbacks, Campana managed to hit .160, one double, two RBI, four runs and four stolen bases.

Inciarte came into the league in 2008 as an international free agent, making his MLB debut on May 2, 2014. Prior to he had spent time with the Diamondbacks Rookie-class affiliates, until being selected the the Phillies in the 2012 Rule 5 Draft. He managed to crack the Phillies opening roster in 2013 before being designated for assignment, and ultimately reclaimed by the Diamondbacks through waivers.
