Daniel Hudson will finally pitch in a big league game again. If that doesn’t get D-backs fans excited, I don’t know what will.
The Diamondbacks have reinstated RHP Daniel Hudson and OF Cody Ross from the DL today as rosters expanded to 40 men. Hudson has been out since June of 2012, when he tore his UCL and required Tommy John surgery, then tore his UCL again while rehabbing to return in 2013.
Huddy and Ian Kennedy were the Randy Johnson-Curt Schilling of the 2011 NL West Champion Diamondbacks, where Hudson went 16-12 with a 3.49 ERA. Hudson expects to come out of the bullpen this September, but Hudson could be a part of the plans for the starting rotation, starting as early as next year.
Cody Ross has been on the DL with a calf strain, and unfortunately went down when it looked like his bat was finally coming around after an abysmal start to the year. Ross’ 2014 season currently sits at .238 with 2 homers and 11 RBIs.
