Paul Goldschmidt has left hand fracture, placed on 15-day DL

In what has truly become a nightmare season for the Diamondbacks, All-Star first baseman Paul Goldschmidt has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a fractured left hand.

Goldschmidt suffered the fracture when he was hit on the hand with a pitch by Pirates right hander Ernesto Frieri. Goldy was visibly hurt by the pitch, and was holding his left hand while on base.

With so many injuries and now an absolutely devastating blow to the D-backs, pitcher Daniel Hudson said it best:
