Archie Goodwin in 2013 NBA Summer League

When you think of Summer you think of the Sun. This Summer will be no different as the dates for the 2014 NBA Summer League have been announced and the Phoenix Suns look to redeem themselves after coming one game away from a perfect Summer League season just one year ago when they went undefeated all the way to the championship game and were denied by the Golden State Warriors.

The short Summer League season this year will begin July 11-15 with each team playing in 3 preliminary rounds and then seeded into a tournament just like last year. Each team is guaranteed to play five games with the Championship game on Monday July 21. The schedule for games will be released at a later date.

Currently the Suns have three first round picks and if they hold on to them will turn into three rookies that they will look to develop and  be on the Summer League roster along with #5 overall pick last year Alex Len and Marcus Morris among others. It remains to be seen if Archie Goodwin will be available as a report was just released detailing his arrest in Arkansas on May 4.

It worked wonders for Markieff Morris last year as he had a fabulous breakout season that culminated in him placing fourth in 6th Man of the Year voting. And the Suns hope the same will happen for his twin brother Marcus and Len.
