Phoenix Suns release Dionte Christmas
The Phoenix Suns ended Christmas early this summer by waiving fan and locker room favorite Dionte Christmas. Christmas was on a non-guaranteed contract for the upcoming 2014-2015 season. The move will save the Suns $816,482 this year. However with the glut of guards and small forwards, including the two new first round picks from this years draft Tyler Ennis and T.J. Warren, Christmas and another favorite Ish Smith became expendable
Christmas, 27, averaged 2.3 points and 1.2 rebounds in a miniscule 6.4 minutes per game in 31 appearances with the Suns. Prior to this past season he was on several summer league teams around the NBA and played overseas for a couple of years before getting his opportunity in 2013 when he signed on with Phoenix.
