Report: Indiana Pacers interested in Suns Goran Dragic
According to Marc Stein, the Indiana Pacers are reportedly interested in trading for Phoenix Suns guard Goran Dragic. Keep in mind the Suns have made it clear that they do not intend on getting rid of Goran Dragic as they look to re-sign Eric Bledsoe and keep their magical backcourt together. Yes, Dragic is heading into the last year of his contract but he has continuously mentioned how much he loves Phoenix and wants to remain here.
Indiana Pacers, I’m told, have tried to engage Phoenix in trade talks for Goran Dragic, but teams have found no common deal ground. Yet

The Suns mindset right now is not to engage in trade talks that involve any of their guards let alone other teams guards. The team is interested in improving their strength at the forward and center positions first and foremost. Also, the Suns have their sights set on free agents like LeBron James, Trevor Ariza, Spencer Hawes, Shawn Marion and many other attractive names that play positions the team desperately needs in order to become a serious playoff contender.
Even though the Pacers look to acquire Goran Dragic the move seems unrealistic as the Suns have been pretty emphatic explaining multiple times now that their intention is to keep both Eric Bledsoe and Goran Dragic. The big question is can the Suns realistically afford to keep both of them all the while actively pursuing free agents at positions of need? The answer will come soon as the NBA free agency period is in full swing. Regardless of what happens, Suns fans hold all of their trust and faith in General Manager Ryan McDonough.
