Suns GM McDonough: ‘We want to sign Bledsoe, Tucker quickly’
By now many NBA teams have figured out which of their free agents they will re-sign and who they will let go. Two of the biggest names on the Phoenix Suns’ list are P.J. Tucker and Eric Bledsoe.
Re-signing the two is seen as a high priority for the team and they want to get it over and done with as quickly as possible. That is according to Suns’ general manager Ryan McDonough
“We’ll try to do that as soon as possible and not let it get to the point where you’d have to get an offer and we’d match it,”
P.J. Tucker had a break-out season in 2013-14 and was a candidate for Defensive Player of the Year, while Tucker wants to test free agency, he’s still open to a return to the Suns. Tucker, at 29, is an older player but he’s proven his worth in two years with the Suns.
Eric Bledsoe has struggled with injuries during his short career ut when he was healthy during the 2013-14 season, he played at an All-Star level. He’s seen as a big part of the teams future and will be a priority to lock up long-term.
After finishing the season with 59 wins and barely missing the playoffs, it’s understandable that the Suns would want to keep as many of their best players as they can.
