Alex Rodriguez Goes Yard: Ties Ken Griffey Jr. For 5th On The All-Time Home Run List

  • RBTS Staff

The Yankees opened their 2012 season with a bang today, as Alex Rodriguez drilled a home run to dead center, the longest part of the ballpark in Yankee Stadium. The blast now ties him with Ken Griffey Jr. for 5th on the all-time home run list.

A-Rod hit No. 630 in the third inning of the Yankees’ home opener against the Los Angeles Angels on Friday, a drive to straightaway center field off Ervin Santana that gave New York a 4-0 lead.

Rodriguez, now only trails Barry Bonds (762), Hank Aaron (755), Babe Ruth (714) and Willie Mays (660) on the career home run list.
