Beltre going for a MRI tomorrow

The Rangers blog on ESPN Dallas has reported Adrian Beltre will seek an MRI on Monday. He strained his hamstring in the first game of the Rangers double header Saturday vs. the Tigers.

Beltre still does not believe he’ll be out of the lineup for an extended period of time. Alberto Gonzalez is in the lineup at third base for the Rangers in the series finale with the Tigers on Sunday.

“I don’t think it’s a big deal,” Beltre said Sunday. “I think it will be a couple of days.”

From this it seems like Beltre will be out for the entire series vs. the New York Yankees. Which is a big blow because he’s batting .304, with 2 home runs, and 7 RBI from the clean up spot. We’ll see if the Rangers can keep up their hot hitting without him.
