C.J. Wilson tweets funny response to fan request

  • David Whitlock

If nothing else, C.J. Wilson is honest.  When a fan (@arielgersh) asked him for a “Retweet”, he obliged, but probably not the way the fan expected.  See Wilson’s (@st8edgracer) response and nod to fellow Los Angeles pitcher Clayton Kershaw (@claytonkersh22via Twitter:

And few could argue Wilson’s case, as Kershaw has either won or finished 2nd for the National League Cy Young Award the past two years, and is the odds-on favorite to win it this year with a microscopic E.R.A. of 1.72 to go with 188 strikeouts (both leading league).

Interactions like this are why fans and players love Twitter so much, it takes away that media layer for player access.  So far the RT hasn’t resulted in many extra follows for @arielgersh (a professed Red Sox and Jacoby Ellsbury fan) as she sits at about 35 followers.  If you go follow her now, tell her @rbts_baseball sent you!

David Whitlock - manager

David (a.k.a. Longhorndave or lhd_on_sports) joined the staff late in the 2012 season and moved to Site Manager in early 2013. A lifelong Houston Astros fan (and mini-season ticket holder for 9 years) he attends 20+ games per year. A statistics freak, David still keeps score the "old fashioned way" on occasion (and has kept manual score of World Series games since 1986 and retains the sheets). He was a featured guest weekly on the Phil Naessens Show. He is also a Texas Longhorns alumnus and huge football and baseball fan of his alma mater. When he isn't watching or writing about baseball, he works as a contractor at NASA Johnson Space Center. He lives by the mantra "a bad day at the ballpark is better than a good day anywhere else."
