The feeling that you’ve just hit a home run is undoubtedly exhilarating, it’s almost like you lose yourself. You are so excited to round those bases, sometimes you are oblivious to what is going on around you. Just ask Carlos Gomez, who hit what he thought was a home run only to find out that the ball was foul….after he had already made his away around the bases.
I am having a hard time deciding whether this is more or less embarrassing than not remembering how many outs there are in an inning. Whatever the answer, there is no doubting the comedy in this video. Poor Carlos thought he given his team an early 1-0 lead in the 1st, only to find out he had only given the Philadelphia crowd a good laugh. To make matters worse, he ends up striking out.
