It seems like Melky Cabrera is having a little bit too much fun with his comeback player of the year type season. According to USA Today, Melky’s gestures towards the Atlanta Braves fans in the game last night didn’t go over too well with Chipper Jones. Jones has said he’s going to retire at the end of the season, so I suppose he wants as much respect shown to his fan base as possible.

What was the gesture?

Well…

Cabrera gave a crotch chop to the Atlanta fans several times last night, including after hitting a home run and then again after making a catch.

Chipper responded with by saying this.

“That’s Melky, and that’s why he’s not here anymore,” Jones said after the game on CSN Bay Area. “He got a little happy when I think (Gregor) Blanco hit the home run. That won’t be forgotten.”

Melky did have one of his worst years of his career as a Brave. What is Chipper implying by the won’t be forgotten part? Maybe Cabrera will be welcomed with a pitch inside in today’s game.
