Chris Davis becomes the second Baltimore Orioles to hit 50 home runs in a single season following former Oriole, Brady Anderson, who accomplished it in 1996.  Davis connecting on a 2-2 pitch over the center field wall in the eighth inning that broke a 3-3 tie off of Toronto Blue Jays reliever, Steve Delabar.  Davis is the 27th member to achieve 50 home runs in a season, Jose Bautista of the Toronto Blue Jays was the last to do it in 2010.  Take a look at Chris Davis latest blast:

Chris Davis is making a very good case at winning the 2013 American League MVP award.  He is currently at a .296BA 50HR 129RBIs.  He joins Babe Ruth and Albert Belle as the only players in MLB history to achieve 50 homers and 40 doubles.  Belle actually accomplished  50hr/50dbls.  It will be difficult to pass the reigning MVP and last year’s Triple Crown Winner, Miguel Cabrera who is once again having a stellar season as well, .348BA 43HR 133RBIs.
