Derek Jeter Back to DL, A-Rod Batting Clean-Up

  • Ryan Kantor

Unfortunate… It’s the only word to describe Derek Jeter’s season. Just four games after recovering from an quad injury and returning from the DL, Derek Jeter is right back on the DL. This time it’s his calf. He missed the first half of the season recovering from a severe ankle injury that he sustained in the ALCS against the Detroit Tigers. In his first game back, he strained his quad. Now in his fourth game back from that injury he has strained his calf (grade 1). A year to forget for the captain!

If there is any solace, it’s that Alex Rodriguez was the one to take his roster spot. He will return amid a 211 game suspension which he is currently appealing. He should bring a little pop, and a lot of entertainment value. He is hitting cleanup today (8/5/2013).
