Guthrie lands on disable list after bike accident
Add Jeremy Guthrie to the list of baseball players that routinely get hurt by freakish accidents. Seriously what is wrong with baseball players? I love baseball as much as the next guy, but it’s crazy how often we hear of these weird accidents that land players on the disable list.
According to the USA Today Guthrie, had been riding his bike to the stadium when the chain came off his Cannondale bicycle, sending him falling to the ground and jamming the right-hander’s shoulder. Thus Rockies placed Guthrie on the 15-day disabled list on Friday after injuring his right shoulder in a bike accident earlier in the day.
A MRI revealed no structural damage to his throwing shoulder. Manager Jim Tracy said Guthrie was just dealing with pain in his AC joint, and that he would “miss a couple of starts.”
Guthrie responded to his fans on twitter saying:
Thanks for all the thoughts guys, freak accident but I’m grateful there is no damage, just some pain. Will be back for teammates & fans soon.
