What’s better than your first career no-hitter?  A second one!  Yes, that is what the fans of Great American Ball Park just witnessed as Homer Bailey pitched his second career no-hit baseball in less than a year.  He is also the last pitcher to accomplished that feat just last year on September 28, 2012 against the Pittsburgh Pirates, when struck out ten on 115 pitches, allowing only one walk in Pittsburgh.  This time he was able to master the San Francisco Giants in his own backyard in front of an ecstatic Reds crowd.

Ironic both no-hitters were caught by Reds Ryan Hanigan, who called a wonderful game.  The only blemish on the no-hitter was a seventh-inning walk drawn by Gregor Blanco.  Homer ended up with nine strikeouts and one walk on 109 pitches.  Cincinnati ended up winning the game 3-0 on a Brandon Phillips 2run shot, belting his 12th home run of the year.  Homer Bailey also added a base hit as he takes the win moving his record to 5-6 with 3.57ERA
