Jerome Williams is Rushed to the Hospital
According to MLB.com, Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Jerome Williams was rushed to the hospital during Monday night’s game. After giving up four runs on seven hits and three walks in three and one-third innings, Williams was said to be having shortness of breath in the Angels’ clubhouse. As the Angels dropped the game to the San Francisco Giants 5-3, Williams took the loss. His record goes to 6-5 with a 4.46 ERA. Hopefully the trip to the hospital is just a precautionary move for the 30 year-old right-hander.
According to Mike DiGiovanna, Angels beat writer for the Los Angeles Times, Torii Hunter said, “We found out in the fifth inning that he passed out in the locker room. All you can do is pray.”
Thankfully, according to Scott Miller of CBSSports.com, Williams is doing better and will be kept overnight for more tests.
