Mariano Rivera said this right now, almost a day after his ACL tear.
Mariano: “I am coming back. Write it down in big letters. … I’m not going out like this.”

He even had this to say for himself.
Thank you fans, friends and family for your prayers, well wishes and support. I will be ok.I will be back.

Turns out that won’t be Mariano’s last game as a Yankee. The greatest closer of all-time gave a big pick me up to the Yankee Universe. I’ve watched this guy since I was a little kid, and I can’t picture baseball without “The Great Rivera”.
Until then, we’ll likely see David Robertson replace him as the Yankees closer this season. Interviewing for the position when Mariano Rivera ultimately decides to hang’em up.
