Mark Teixeira may be headed to season-ending surgery

  • kcmac38

It has been a nightmare for the injury plagued season of New York Yankees all-star first baseman, Mark Teixeira as he received more bad news about his ailing wrist.  After reviewing the results of an MRI done by Dr. Christopher Ahmad, he had determined the torn tendon sheath had not adequately healed.   Several other hand specialist have also agreed with the outcome of Teixeira’s wrist and it would be in his best interest to have season-ending surgery.

Mark Teixeira had developed some inflammation in his wrist when his Yankees played against the Los Angeles Angels on June 15.  It landed Teixeira on the disabled list for the second time this year.  The original injury happened when Teixeira hurt himself hitting off a tee during the World Baseball Classic.  Timetable for recovery will be six months which will eliminate any chances of Mark returning for the 2013 season.

Teixeira, played 15 games this season with 53 at-bats.  He was batting .153BA 3HR 12RBI.
