Matt Holliday in the lineup for the Cardinals

  • David Whitlock

The Cardinals will get a key offensive weapon back tonight as Matt Holliday has recovered from back stiffness that plagued him in Game 6.  He’s received treatment pretty much 24/7 since being scratched in Game 6, and according to Mike Matheny “He feels much better and we’re confident that he’s not just going to be out there, but be able to be productive.”   While his postseason production has been limited, just his presence in the lineup should move other key hitters into more optimal spots and he is certainly capable of breaking the game open with his power.  From a fans perspective, it’s great to see both teams have all their key weapons with star pitchers heading to the mound in what will probably be a game talked about for a long time.
