It seems that every day we are faced with some sort of a rivalry. Companies that make the products that we use on a daily basis have pitted us against each other, using us in their army of influence to dominate their market. Think: iPhone vs. Android, Windows vs. Mac, Ford vs. Chevrolet, McDonalds vs. Burger King, Coke vs. Pepsi or Xbox One vs. PS4. We as humans are conditioned to pick one thing and stick to our guns.

Rivalry is most evident in the sports world. Flip-flopping your allegiance is often looked at as a form of weakness. We all know that guy that gets a new hat or t-shirt every season claiming that he’s always been a fan. Nobody likes that guy. Don’t be that guy.

In the spirit of rivalry and anticipation of February 11, the day that the first pitchers and catchers report for Spring Training, I have compiled a list of the ten best rivalries in Major League Baseball. My list is a compilation of the great rivalries of old and budding rivalries of late. Be sure to comment if you have a case for a rivalry that I omitted.

All head to head records were taken from Baseball-Reference.com and/or MCubed.net, and should be accurate as of the completion of the 2013 World Series.
