Scary times for Andrus and Beltre as they collide

  • kcmac38

The Rangers can laugh about it now; but in the sixth inning of the Cleveland vs. Texas game, a pop fly in foul territory could have wiped out the whole entire left side of the Rangers’ all-star infield.  Both Adrian Beltre and Elvis Andrus were pursuing a foul ball down the left field line.  These two have a history of fighting for pop-ups and trying to outdo one another on the routine plays.  As Elvis tried to make the play by sliding, Adrian was able to come up with the ball but tripped over Elvis in the process going airborne, landing on his lower back as he dropped the ball.  That missed foul ball extended the inning costing the Rangers three runs.  Take a look:

Luckily no injuries occurred and both players continued to play.
