Ten least deserving MLB All-Stars since the game started to count
Fan voting determines the starting rosters for each league in the Major League Baseball All-Star Game. This has caused a bit of controversy as fans don’t necessarily always vote for the most qualified players at each position. It has turned into a big popularity contest. It wouldn’t be that big of a deal if this game was still just an exhibition game.
Since 2003, the league that wins the All-Star Game is awarded home field advantage in that year’s World Series. The change was enacted after the 2002 All-Star Game ended in a controversial 11 inning tie when both teams ran out of pitchers.
The game counts, and each league needs the best roster to help their team gain home field advantage in the event that they make it to the World Series. Fans currently pick the rosters and as I said earlier, fans don’t always vote for the most qualified players. I’ve compiled a list of the ten least qualified Major League Baseball All-Stars.
