Tim Hudson out for the season with ankle fracture
Atlanta Braves pitcher Tim Hudson will be out for the season after suffering a fractured ankle Wednesday night. It all started when New York Mets’ Eric Young Jr. stepped on Hudson’s ankle as he crossed first base. Tim was covering first base on a routine ground ball hit to Freddie Freeman. Hudson went down and was carted of the field.

Hudson will need surgery on his right ankle once the swelling goes down. This is a big blow for the Braves as they lose a veteran pitcher. He is 7-7 with a 4.08 ERA in 123 innings this season. With the trade deadline a week away, Atlanta will have to find a replacement quick as they already missed out on Matt Garza, who was swept up by the Texas Rangers. Brandon Beachy is expected to replace Hudson in the rotation Monday night against Colorado.
