I wonder what the feeling in Minnesota was when they were told that their $55 million pitcher, Ervin Santana, was suspended for the first 80 games after testing positive for the steroid Stanozolol.  Santana signed the richest free-agent deal in Twins history during the offseason and all but assured the organization a usual spot in the AL Central basement!

Santana released a statement earlier today on the Twins website earlier today stating:

“I am frustrated that I can’t pinpoint how the substance in question entered my body,” Santana said in the release. “I would never knowingly take anything illegal to enhance my performance.”

Here it is years later after the likes of Barry Bonds who cleverly used the phrase “knowingly!”  Really!  Come on Ervin, for once in your life fess up to it.  You got caught, bottom line and now you have 80 games to think about how embarrassed you should be!  Santana was slated as the number two guy behind Phil Hughes.  Santana enjoyed a solid 14-10 record last season with 179Ks during the 2014 season.
