WATCH: Astros rookie George Springer makes catch full speed into wall
Houston Astros rookie George Springer, whose call up signified the turning of a corner for the Astros from punching bag, to team with punch, continues to make highlight reel plays. It could be a tape measure home run, or amazing catches in the outfield. Today was the latter, as Springer ran full speed to the deep centerfield gap to run down what appeared to be a sure extra base hit (via MLB.com)
Note that Springer has been mostly playing right field (with Dexter Fowler in center). But back problems to Fowler have opened up the possibility to play CF and he seems at home. The Astros won the game 8-r, surging past the reeling Rangers into 4th place in the American League West.
