WATCH: Was a bird the reason for Jacoby Ellsbury’s dropped fly ball

  • RBTS Staff

During Game 3 of the World Series between the Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals, Sox’ center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury dropped a fly ball off the bat of Matt Holliday. However, the embarrassing error didn’t hurt the Red Sox as Dustin Pedroia made a heads up play by firing the ball back to first base and nailing Holliday out.

But a closer look would suggest that a bird could have altered the fly ball by briefly blocking Ellsbury’s vision. The bird looks like it takes a straight nosedive to the grass, but apparently was alright.
