The Los Angeles Angels are making their run, and it is being reported that Zack Greinke has been acquired by the club. According to Jon Morosi of FOXSports.com, the Milwaukee Brewers have dealt pitcher Zack Greinke to the Angels for shortstop prospect Jean Segura and others. Greinke’s name has been heavily involved in recent trade rumors, and it looks as if the Brewers have found what they were looking for.

Zack Greinke won the American League Cy Young Award in 2009 while playing with the Kansas City Royals. Now, in his second year with the Milwaukee Brewers, Greinke has a 9-3 record with a 3.44 ERA in 2012. His addition to the Angels will make the American League West divisional race interesting. The move will also significantly impact the wild card race, as the Angels are surfacing as a serious team after a rough start to the season.  The Angels currently sit at 54-45. They trail the Texas Rangers by five games.

Jean Segura is a 22-year-old shortstop batting .294 with seven home runs in 2012 while playing for the Angels’ double-A affiliate in Arkansas.
