Report: Danny Trevathan out 6-8 weeks
The Denver Broncos will open their season without last year’s leading tackler, linebacker Danny Trevathan. The team announced Tuesday that he suffered a fracture below his left knee, and will miss 6-8 weeks. The injury occurred while Trevathan was in pursuit of a running play during Tuesday morning’s practice. This is a blow to a defense looking to improve all around after being torched by the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl in February. Trevathan racked up 124 tackles in 2013. Backup linebacker Brandon Marshall filled in for Trevathan the remainder of practice, and is the most likely candidate to start during Trevathan’s absence.
