Undertaker’s Top Five Wrestlemania Matches
The Deadman . The Phenom. The Lord of Darkness. Big Evil. The American Badass. The Undertaker.
Growing up, the Undertaker was my favorite wrestler. His size, his speed, his agility astounded me. The tolling of the bell, the dark lighting, the smoke all gave me chills and goosebumps. His deep voice, evil vernacular, his catch phrases, I still have memoized to this day. Let’s face it, you have your 3:16’s, your Rocks, your Cena’s. But Taker is the
living dead legend. Especially considering he is 21-0 at the big dance, Wrestlemania.
Taker has beat some of the best in the business and some of the worst. From Jimmy Snuka and Ric Flair to A-Train and Big Show. From HHH and HBK to Mark Henry and Giant Gonzales. In this article, I pick what I believe to be the Deadman’s Top 5 ‘Mania matches.
#5: HHH- Wrestlemania XXVIII
This was a brutal match. End of an era, WWE touted. And boy was it. This was HHH and Taker’s third match together at WM, despite what WWE would like you to remember. I believe this one was the best. The year before, HHH dominated the match. This year, Undertaker wanted revenge in a match both him and HHH made their own, Hell in a Cell. But the odds were stacked against Taker, having HBK Shawn Michaels as the special guest referee. But the match did not disappoint and one of the most classic Undertaker Wrestlemania moments was captured. Sweet chin music into a pedigree, kickout at 2 and a half. Taker remains unbeaten. 20-0.
