Robert Griffin III has lost his mind
Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III stated what only 1 other person in this world believes — and this is including even the hardest of the hardcore Redskin fans: That he is the best quarterback in the league.
Oh, that other personMIGHT be his wife, but I’m going to guess it’s perpetual troll, Skip Bayless.
Robert Griffin III is about as confident heading into 2015 as a player at his position probably could be, saying on Sunday he feels like he’s the “best quarterback in the league,” he just has to show it.
“I don’t feel like I have to come out here and show anybody or anything, or why I’m better than this guy or better than that guy — it’s more about going out and affirming that”
“For me, [when] I go out and I play, I know I’m the best quarterback on this team,” he said. “I feel like I’m the best quarterback in the league, and I have to go out and show that.”
While Griffin does have extraordinary talent for the quarterback position, he’s done nothing to justify his bold statement since his rookie year. To be honest, RG III might not even be the best quarterback on his own team.
At least RG III sort of explained why he thinks he’s the best. He’s either lying to himself or he’s delusional, but at least he gave a reasonable explanation.
Griffin explained his thinking: “Any athlete at any level, if they concede to someone else, they’re not a top competitor, they’re not trying to be the best that they can be. There’s guys in this league that have done way more than me, but I still view myself as the best because that’s what I work towards every single day. So when I step out on that field, it’s time for me to go out and prove it. And that’s what I do every time.”
Settle down now, RG III.
