Sportscaster Performs Epic Hip-Hop “RapCast” in recap
You’re taught at a very early part of journalism and broadcasting school to “not be the story.” Basically, you don’t want to insert yourself into the news, but simply report it objectively to the best of your abilities. However, you can also just throw that out the window and have a little fun with it. That’s the approach Adam Lefkoe of Louisville’s WHAS has taken with his sports reporting. Lefkoe was previously known for his professional wrestling sports cast, but he decided for an epic encore, and it didn’t disappoint.
This time, Lefkoe went with the rap theme, citing a bunch of classic artists and songs, including, but CERTAINLY, not limited to Tupac’s “California Love,”, MC Hammer’s “Can’t Touch This,” and Jay-Z’s “99 Problems.” Deadspin’s Tom Ley counted 46 references; can you catch them, or maybe even more?
Let’s go to the video:
I thought this was hilarious, and the mic drop at the end only sealed the deal. Bravo, Mr. Lefkoe. Let the haters hate.
