Street by Yankee Stadium named after Mariano Rivera
Mariano Rivera, the greatest closer in baseball history and a New York Yankees legend, got a little tribute paid to him today in the Bronx. River Avenue, which runs right past Yankee Stadium, was renamed “Mariano Rivera Avenue.” The kicker? All they had to do was throw an “a” at the end of the River Avenue sign.
A simple, yet effective way to pay homage to Rivera, who racked up 652 saves in his illustrious career.
