With the NBA preseason just around the corner, the dog days of summer are usually when players begin getting themselves back into playing shape. But Cleveland Cavaliers’ second-year big man Tyler Zeller wasn’t into that nonsense. He instead formed a borderline addiction to Krispy Kreme donuts and added nearly ten pounds to his frame.
Via Pro Basketball Talk:
“They’re so good,” he said, unabashedly. “If you get them hot….”
Yeah, yeah. We know.
“I ate about six in probably 10 minutes, maybe less,” he said.
Zeller averaged just under seven points and six rebounds per game in his rookie campaign last season. He is expected to play a primary bench role in 2013 with Andrew Bynum now in the fold. Hopefully Zeller can turn some of that weight into muscle so his affinity for delicious, scrumptious, mouth-watering Krispy Kremes isn’t his downfall.
But hey, I for one also enjoy Krispy Kremes, and let’s be honest – it’s not that hard to eat a lot of them in one sitting. If anything, Zeller can bring the team breakfast every morning.
