According to the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, Moore was arrested April 13 by Lubbock Police officers after being observed driving his 1996 Mercury while intoxicated. Moore was then taken to Lubbock City Jail.

If convicted, he could face up to $2,000 in fines, jail time of three to 180 days, possible probation for one year, a suspended driver’s license and he could be ordered to attend driver’s education classes.

No matter what the legal outcome of Moore’s case, his reinstatement to Tech’s active football roster is not guaranteed, Associate Athletics Director for Communications Blayne Beal said.

“He violated team policy and coach Tommy Tuberville will make sure he faces all the consequences necessary”.

For now, Darrin Moore has been indefinitely suspended from the football program. His future is still under question but for now, he will not be a part of the 2012 Texas Tech team.
