The Detroit Lions and the Cleveland Browns faced off on Thursday night during week two of the NFL’s preseason action. The Browns imposed their will at home and walked away with a nice 24-6 victory over the visiting Lions.
There were a plethora of highlight plays, most of which were supplied by the Browns, but this hit on Browns’ running back, Trent Richardson, courtesy of Lions’ defensive tackle, Ndamukong Suh, was certainly a play of the game.
Richardson breaks off a nice 8-yeard gain early in the first quarter, but is met at the sideline by the steam roller that is Ndamukong Suh. Suh makes a great defensive save to get on his horse and run down the ball carrier for the stop. Richardson, a known fan of contact, seems to take the hit in stride, as he bounces back to his feet and runs back towards the field of play. Just another day in the office for a tough running back like Richardson.
A positive sign for Detroit, as Suh shows off his athletic prowess, and manages to make the play without seeing a yellow flag.
