Video: Young Toronto Maple Leafs Fan Says “Go Flyers” After Philadelphia Goal
The Toronto Maple Leafs are one of the longest-suffering franchises in professional sports. Of the Original Six hockey teams, they have the longest Stanley Cup championship drought, a 45-year span dating all the way back to 1967. And during Toronto’s 7-1 massacre at the hands of the Philadelphia Flyers, it looks as though one of the Maple Leafs’ youngest fans has already decided to spare himself from further torture of being a Leafs fan by quickly switching allegiances. After Philadelphia Flyers forward Jakub Voracek put the whipped cream (not quite the cherry, since there would be another goal scored) on top of the Flyers’ victory by scoring his team’s sixth goal of the night, the young man at the :15 second mark can be seen looking into the camera, fully adorned in his Maple Leafs jersey…saying “Go Flyers!” These must indeed be dark times for the Maple Leaf faithful….
